PRECIOUS FARMING

Materials Needed

Apple

Knife

Instructions:

Take an apple and cut it in half. One-half represents the Earth’s entire surface that cannot be farmed. Example: Sand desert, ice caps, and the ocean.

Put that half aside. Cut the half into two quarters. One quarter represents homes, parking lots, stores, etc. That leaves us with ¼ left.

Put the quarter aside. Cut the other quarter into two 1/8’s. One-eight represents the rain forest and the hardwood hammocks that must remain to prevent global warming, filter the air, and take-in carbon dioxide and produce oxygen. Take the last 1/8 and peal the skin. That portion is what represents the outer crust of the Earth. That is what’s left to farm and ranch food to feed the planet.
